Biography


Actor awarded two Oscars, Gene Hackman, whose real name is Eugene Allen Hackman was born January 30, 1930 in California. After his parents divorce and the tragic death of his mother fire, Gene Hackman agrees with the Marines for three years. At the end of his military service he moved to New York and landed odd jobs before enrolling in courses in television production and journalism at the University of Illinois. Just 30 years ago, Gene Hackman decided to become an actor. He joined the company in Pasadena, California where he met Dustin Hoffman. Regarded as outsiders by their classmates, Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman wants to prove themselves and decide to go try their luck in New York. Gene Hackman began performing in plays. In 1964, he landed a role on Broadway, which opened the doors of the cinema. He landed a role in "Lilith" alongside Warren Beatty, then in "Bonnie and Clyde" in 1967, which won him an Oscar nomination.
In 1970, Gene Hackman was again nominated for an Oscar for her role in "I Never Sang for My Father". The following year he won the Oscar for Best Actor for his unforgettable performance in "French Connection" after which she is offered many roles in the disaster film "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972) and "Conversation Secret "(1974) by Francis Ford Coppola, among others.
That same year, Gene Hackman appear in the comedy "Young Frankenstein" in 1977, seen in the war film "A Bridge Too Far" in 1978 and 1980, we see Lex Luthor in interpreting "Superman" and " Superman II. In the late 1980, Gene Hackman is a respected player which alternates the lead roles and supporting roles. Although he never managed to acquire the iconic status of cinema as his peers Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Gene Hackman has the ability to blend into the roles he plays, performing sharp performance as in "French Connection" or "Mississippi Burning" and lighter roles in comedies like "Birdcage" or "The Royal Tenenbaums." His voice is unique and easily recognizable to regular TV commercials (United Airlines, CNN), but also the dubbing of animated films such as "Antz." Divorced from his first wife with whom he had three children, Gene Hackman remarried in 1991 and currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
